Three people placing paper leaves on a wooden treeMy Choice Matters is governed in partnership between the NSW Council for Intellectual Disability (NSW CID) and Ageing, Disability and Home Care, NSW Department of Families and Community Services (ADHC).
The Board is jointly chaired by Jim Longley, the Chief Executive of Ageing, Disability and Home Care, and Michael (MJ) Sullivan, Chairperson of the NSW Council for Intellectual Disability.

My Choice Matters also had an Advisory Group until July 2015. The Advisory Group played a critical role in supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of My Choice Matters.

The role of the Advisory Group was to:

  • Support the development and implementation of strategic directions and an implementation framework for My Choice Matters.
  • Support the development and implementation of a My Choice Matters work plan including a communications and engagement strategy.
  • Support the development and implementation of a My Choice Matters evaluation framework.
  • Provide advice to the Board on capacity building resources and strategies required to implement the NSW Government’s policy directions for self-directed support and individualised budgets.

My Choice Matters continues to consult with the members on an ad hoc basis regarding the project.
